No Paraiso in Paradise

Leitura: Lucas23:32-43 O ladrão convertido na cruz pediu e recebeu. Você reparou que ele pediu uma coisa e recebeu outra? Assim é a maneira de Deus, porque nem sempre sabemos ou entendemos o que pedimos. O ladrão arrependido reconheceu que Jesus era o Rei esperado para governar Israel. Reconheceu também que, apesar de tudo, o seu reino seria de algum modo estabelecido. Tudo o que ele pediu foi ser lembrado por Jesus quando este entrasse em seu reino. Só isso. Não ser esquecido. Ele certamente não esperava pela resposta de Jesus, que não falou do reino, mas do Paraíso. Não em alguma data futura e indeterminada, mas no menor espaço de tempo possível, e ainda com uma garantia: “Eu lhe garanto: Hoje você estará comigo no paraíso” (Lc 23:42-43). Em 2 Coríntios 12:2-4 Paulo identifica o Paraíso como o terceiro céu e Apocalipse 2:7 revela ser a presença de Deus. Mas como poderia Jesus ir ao Paraíso naquele mesmo dia se dizem que ele desceria ao inferno? A confusão é gerada por uma tradução pouco precisa do Salmo 16:10, citado também em Atos 2:27: “Pois não deixarás a minha alma no inferno, nem permitirás que o teu Santo veja a corrupção”. Outras versões dizem “não deixarás a minha alma na morte”, outras, “na região dos mortos” ou “no sepulcro”. A palavra grega é “hades”, que não significa um lugar, mas uma condição. Naquele dia o ladrão e Jesus estariam ao mesmo tempo no “hades” e “no Paraíso”, isto é, na condição de terem a alma e o espírito separados do corpo, porém no lugar chamado Paraíso. Então quando é que Jesus teria descido ao inferno? Nunca. A palavra “inferno” não existe na Bíblia. Ela foi usada por tradutores no lugar de palavras com diferentes significados, como “hades”, que é a condição de morte, e “geena”, que é o “lago de fogo”, o destino final dos perdidos. O lago de fogo ainda está vazio. Todos os que morreram estão no hades, isto é, na condição de morte, mas alguns já estão salvos, com Cristo, e outros perdidos e impossibilitados de passarem para o lado dos salvos. Um dia todos deixarão o hades — ou a condição de morte física — para receberem seus corpos: uns para estarem com Deus em corpo, alma e espírito, outros para serem lançados no lago de fogo. Em ambos os casos, eternamente. Mas se Jesus subiu naquele dia ao Paraíso, quando ele teria pregado aos condenados que estão no hades, como Pedro diz em sua carta? Há muitos séculos, antes do Dilúvio.

Such is the way of God, because not always know or understand what we ask. The repentant thief recognized that Jesus was the King expected to rule Israel. It also recognized that, despite everything, his kingdom would be established in any way. All he asked was to be remembered by Jesus when he came into his kingdom. Only that. Not be forgotten. He certainly did not expect the response of Jesus, did not speak of the kingdom, but Paradise. Not at some future and unspecified date, but in the shortest possible time, and with a guarantee: "I assure you, today you will be with me in paradise" (Luke 23: 42-43). In 2 Corinthians 12: 2-4 Paul identifies Paradise as the third heaven and Revelation 2: 7 reveals be the presence of God. But how could Jesus go to heaven that day if say he would descend to hell? The confusion is generated by an imprecise translation of Psalm 16:10, also quoted in Acts 2:27: "thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption." Other versions say "not leave my soul in hell," other, "in the grave" or "the grave". The Greek word is "hades," which does not mean a place, but a condition. On that day the thief and Jesus were both in "hades" and "Paradise", that is, they must have the soul and the spirit separate body, but at a place called Paradise. So when it is that Jesus descended into hell? Never. The word "hell" does not exist in the Bible. It was used by translators in place of words with different meanings, such as "Hades," which is the condition of death, and "Gehenna", which is the "lake of fire", the ultimate fate of the lost. The lake of fire is still empty. All the dead are in hell, that is, on condition of death, but some are already saved, with Christ, and other lost and unable to go to the side of the saved. One day all will leave Hades - or condition of physical death - to receive their bodies: one to be with God in body, soul and spirit, others to be thrown into the lake of fire. In both cases, forever. But if Jesus ascended to heaven that day, when he would have preached to convicts who are in hell, as Peter says in his letter? Many centuries before the Flood.

Como já expliquei,hades não é um lugar físico, mas o estado de separação do corpo quando a pessoa morre. Sua alma e espíritos continuam vivos e despertos com Cristo no céu, no caso dos salvos, ou longe de Cristo e sofrendo nessa condição, no caso dos perdidos. Mas vamos ler a passagem em 1 Pedro 2:5; 3:19 e 4:6, inserindo algumas explicações no texto para facilitar sua compreensão. “[Deus] não poupou o mundo antigo quando trouxe o dilúvio sobre aquele povo ímpio, mas preservou Noé, pregador da justiça, e mais sete pessoas... [Jesus] foi morto no corpo, mas vivificado pelo Espírito, no qual [Espírito] também foi e pregou [por intermédio de Noé] aos espíritos [que agora estão] em prisão que há muito tempo desobedeceram, quando Deus esperava pacientemente nos dias de Noé, enquanto a arca era construída... Por isso mesmo o evangelho foi pregado também aos [que hoje estão] mortos, para que eles, mesmo julgados no corpo segundo os homens, vivam pelo Espírito segundo Deus.” (1 Pe 2:5; 3:19; 4:6). Juntando tudo, Jesus não foi ao hades pregar o evangelho no dia em que morreu na cruz. Nesse dia ele foi direto ao Paraíso, se é que você acredita no que ele disse ao ladrão. O que Pedro menciona em sua carta ocorreu muito tempo antes, quando Jesus, no Espírito, usou Noé, o“pregador da justiça”, para avisar os homens do juízo que iria cair sobre o mundo. Essa pregação de Noé durou mais de cem anos, enquanto Deus pacientemente aguardava a construção da arca. Os espíritos dos que ouviram a pregação de Jesus por intermédio de Noé e morreram no dilúvio, estão hoje aprisionados no hades aguardando para serem lançados no lago de fogo. Nos últimos dois mil anos muitos ouviram o evangelho e morreram na incredulidade e estão hoje no hades. Escutaram da graça de Deus enquanto estavam vivos e agora, mortos, já nada podem fazer para mudar seu destino. De nada adiantaria Cristo ir até eles pregar o evangelho, pois o dia da oportunidade já passou. Que dia? O mesmo que Jesus prometeu ao ladrão que estaria com ele no Paraíso: Hoje! Se você ainda não tomou uma decisão por Cristo, lembre-se de que esse mesmo“hoje” serve para quem escuta o evangelho saber que amanhã será tarde demais. “Se hoje vocês ouvirem a sua voz, não endureçam o coração”(Hb 4:7).

Reading: Lucas23: 32-43 When someone picks up the promise of Jesus to the repentant thief, that would be together that very day in Paradise, and joins with Acts 2:27, which predicted that Christ would not be in hell, and adds 1 Peter 3:19 and 4: 6 the package, the confusion is complete. Putting it all together, Jesus did not go to Hades to preach the gospel on the day he died on the cross. That day he went straight to heaven, if you believe what he said to the thief. The Peter mentions in his letter occurred long before, when Jesus, in the Spirit, used Noah, the "preacher of righteousness" to warn men of judgment that would fall upon the world. This preaching of Noah lasted over a hundred years, while God patiently waited for the ark. The spirits of those who heard Jesus' preaching through Noah and died in the flood, are now trapped in hell waiting to be thrown into the lake of fire. In the past two thousand years many heard the gospel and died in unbelief and are now in hell. They heard the grace of God while they were alive and now dead, already can do nothing to change their destiny. Of no use Christ go to them preach the gospel, for the day of opportunity has passed. Which day? Same as Jesus promised the thief would be with him in Paradise: Today! If you have not made a decision for Christ, remember that this same "today" is for those who hear the gospel know that tomorrow will be too late. "If you hear his voice today, do not harden your hearts" (Hebrews 4: 7).
