Deus a procura de um espaço God looking for a space

Leitura: Marcos1:1-8 Este encontro de Deus com o que restou de seu povo foi marcado por João Batista num deserto, que mostrava condição de seus corações, e exigia deles confissão de pecados e arrependimento. Mas eles rejeitariam seu Messias e Israel viria a experimentar “um endurecimento em parte, até que chegasse a plenitude dos gentios. E assim todo o Israel será salvo, como está escrito: ‘Virá de Sião o redentor que desviará de Jacó a impiedade. E esta é a minha aliança com eles quando eu remover os seus pecados” (Rm 11:25-27).   Este “endurecimento em parte” já dura mais de dois mil anos, período no qual Deus passou a tratar com seu povo celestial, a Igreja. Num futuro próximo, depois que a Igreja for tirada da terra no arrebatamento, “todo o Israel será salvo”. Então se dará o verdadeiro encontro no deserto, aqui prefigurado por este de João Batista, quando ficarão claras as intenções de amor e ternura que Deus sempre teve para com Israel, ao ponto de chamar seu povo de “esposa”. Oséias descreve assim:   “Portanto, agora vou atraí-la; vou levá-la para o deserto e vou falar-lhe com carinho. Ali devolverei a ela as suas vinhas, e farei do vale de Açor uma porta de esperança. Ali ela me responderá como nos dias de sua infância, como no dia em que saiu do Egito. ‘Naquele dia’, declara o Senhor, ‘você me chamará ‘meu marido’; não me chamará mais ‘meu senhor’. Tirarei dos seus lábios os nomes dos baalins; seus nomes não serão mais invocados. Naquele dia farei em favor deles um acordo com os animais do campo, com as aves do céu e com os animais que rastejam pelo chão. Arco, espada e guerra, eu os abolirei da terra, para que todos possam viver em paz. Eu me casarei com você para sempre; eu me casarei com você com justiça e retidão, com amor e compaixão. Eu me casarei com você com fidelidade, e você reconhecerá o Senhor.  ‘Naquele dia eu responderei’, declara o Senhor. ‘Responderei aos céus, e eles responderão à terra; e a terra responderá ao cereal, ao vinho e ao azeite, e eles responderão a Jezreel. Eu a plantarei para mim mesmo na terra; tratarei com amor aquela que chamei ‘Não amada’. Direi àquele chamado ‘Não-meu-povo’: Você é meu povo; e ele dirá: ‘Tu és o meu Deus’.” (Os 2:14-23).   Enquanto isso não acontece, existe uma janela de oportunidade para todo aquele que reconhece o deserto em que está sua alma e vai a Jesus arrependido de seus pecados, clamando por salvação.
