No Paraiso in Paradise

Leitura: Lucas23:32-43 O ladrão convertido na cruz pediu e recebeu. Você reparou que ele pediu uma coisa e recebeu outra? Assim é a maneira de Deus, porque nem sempre sabemos ou entendemos o que pedimos. O ladrão arrependido reconheceu que Jesus era o Rei esperado para governar Israel. Reconheceu também que, apesar de tudo, o seu reino seria de algum modo estabelecido. Tudo o que ele pediu foi ser lembrado por Jesus quando este entrasse em seu reino. Só isso. Não ser esquecido. Ele certamente não esperava pela resposta de Jesus, que não falou do reino, mas do Paraíso. Não em alguma data futura e indeterminada, mas no menor espaço de tempo possível, e ainda com uma garantia: “Eu lhe garanto: Hoje você estará comigo no paraíso” (Lc 23:42-43). Em 2 Coríntios 12:2-4 Paulo identifica o Paraíso como o terceiro céu e Apocalipse 2:7 revela ser a presença de Deus. Mas como poderia Jesus ir ao Paraíso naquele mesmo dia se dizem que ele desceria ao inferno? A confusão é gerada por uma tradução pouco precisa do Salmo 16:10, citado também em Atos 2:27: “Pois não deixarás a minha alma no inferno, nem permitirás que o teu Santo veja a corrupção”. Outras versões dizem “não deixarás a minha alma na morte”, outras, “na região dos mortos” ou “no sepulcro”. A palavra grega é “hades”, que não significa um lugar, mas uma condição. Naquele dia o ladrão e Jesus estariam ao mesmo tempo no “hades” e “no Paraíso”, isto é, na condição de terem a alma e o espírito separados do corpo, porém no lugar chamado Paraíso. Então quando é que Jesus teria descido ao inferno? Nunca. A palavra “inferno” não existe na Bíblia. Ela foi usada por tradutores no lugar de palavras com diferentes significados, como “hades”, que é a condição de morte, e “geena”, que é o “lago de fogo”, o destino final dos perdidos. O lago de fogo ainda está vazio. Todos os que morreram estão no hades, isto é, na condição de morte, mas alguns já estão salvos, com Cristo, e outros perdidos e impossibilitados de passarem para o lado dos salvos. Um dia todos deixarão o hades — ou a condição de morte física — para receberem seus corpos: uns para estarem com Deus em corpo, alma e espírito, outros para serem lançados no lago de fogo. Mas vamos ler a passagem em 1 Pedro 2:5; 3:19 e 4:6, inserindo algumas explicações no texto para facilitar sua compreensão. “[Deus] não poupou o mundo antigo quando trouxe o dilúvio sobre aquele povo ímpio, mas preservou Noé, pregador da justiça, e mais sete pessoas... [Jesus] foi morto no corpo, mas vivificado pelo Espírito, no qual [Espírito] também foi e pregou [por intermédio de Noé] aos espíritos [que agora estão] em prisão que há muito tempo desobedeceram, quando Deus esperava pacientemente nos dias de Noé, enquanto a arca era construída... Por isso mesmo o evangelho foi pregado também aos [que hoje estão] mortos, para que eles, mesmo julgados no corpo segundo os homens, vivam pelo Espírito segundo Deus.” (1 Pe 2:5; 3:19; 4:6). Juntando tudo, Jesus não foi ao hades pregar o evangelho no dia em que morreu na cruz. Nesse dia ele foi direto ao Paraíso, se é que você acredita no que ele disse ao ladrão. O que Pedro menciona em sua carta ocorreu muito tempo antes, quando Jesus, no Espírito, usou Noé, o“pregador da justiça”, para avisar os homens do juízo que iria cair sobre o mundo. Essa pregação de Noé durou mais de cem anos, enquanto Deus pacientemente aguardava a construção da arca. Os espíritos dos que ouviram a pregação de Jesus por intermédio de Noé e morreram no dilúvio, estão hoje aprisionados no hades aguardando para serem lançados no lago de fogo. Nos últimos dois mil anos muitos ouviram o evangelho e morreram na incredulidade e estão hoje no hades. Escutaram da graça de Deus enquanto estavam vivos e agora, mortos, já nada podem fazer para mudar seu destino. De nada adiantaria Cristo ir até eles pregar o evangelho, pois o dia da oportunidade já passou. Que dia? O mesmo que Jesus prometeu ao ladrão que estaria com ele no Paraíso: Hoje! Se você ainda não tomou uma decisão por Cristo, lembre-se de que esse mesmo“hoje” serve para quem escuta o evangelho saber que amanhã será tarde demais. “Se hoje vocês ouvirem a sua voz, não endureçam o coração”(Hb 4:7).

Concluído o julgamento religioso, Jesus é levado a Pilatos para o julgamento civil. Por estarem sob domínio romano, os judeus não podem executar um transgressor. Jesus foi condenado pelos judeus por se declarar Filho de Deus, o que ele realmente era. Agora, diante de Pilatos, os judeus tentam convencer o inimigo invasor de que Jesus conspira contra César. Mas não era isso que eles próprios gostariam de fazer?

“E começaram a acusá-lo, dizendo: ‘Encontramos este homem subvertendo a nossa nação. Ele proíbe o pagamento de imposto a César e se declara ele próprio o Cristo, um rei’. Pilatos perguntou a Jesus: ‘Você é o rei dos judeus?’ ‘Tu o dizes’, respondeu Jesus. Então Pilatos disse aos chefes dos sacerdotes e à multidão: ‘Não encontro motivo para acusar este homem’.” (Lc 23:2-4). Nada é mais degradante do que ver um ímpio ter mais discernimento do que aqueles que conhecem a Palavra de Deus.

Pilatos quer livrar-se do problema, por isso “sabendo que Jesus era da [Galileia], jurisdição de Herodes, enviou-o a Herodes, que também estava em Jerusalém naqueles dias. Quando Herodes viu Jesus, ficou muito alegre, porque havia muito tempo queria vê-lo. Pelo que ouvira falar dele, esperava vê-lo realizar algum milagre.” (Lc 23:7-8).

Quantos hoje ficam alegres ao ouvirem falar de Jesus, mas não por estarem dispostos a crer com o coração e confessá-lo como Senhor, submetendo-se a ele. Ficam alegres apenas com possibilidade de presenciarem algum milagre: serem curados de uma enfermidade, prosperarem nos negócios ou resolverem um relacionamento amoroso. Se este for o seu caso, você não é diferente de Herodes Antipas, o mesmo que mandou matar João Batista por incomodar sua consciência adúltera; o mesmo filho de Herodes, o Grande, que quis se livrar de Jesus quando nasceu e promoveu o massacre dos meninos de Belém.

Portanto, não se iluda com as multidões que hoje enchem os templos da cristandade, achando que todos ali estão interessados em Jesus.“Enquanto [Jesus] estava em Jerusalém, na festa da Páscoa, muitos viram os sinais miraculosos que ele estava realizando e creram em seu nome. Mas Jesus não se confiava a eles, pois conhecia a todos. Não precisava que ninguém lhe desse testemunho a respeito do homem, pois ele bem sabia o que havia no homem.” (Jo 2:23-25). Você já parou para pensar qual o real motivo de você querer ver a Jesus?

Reading: Lucas23: 1-8

Done religious trial, Jesus is brought before Pilate for civil trial. For being under Roman rule, the Jews can not run a transgressor. Jesus was condemned by the Jews by declaring Son of God, what he really was. Now, before Pilate, the Jews try to convince the invading enemy that Jesus conspire against Caesar. But that was not what they themselves would like to do?

"And they began to accuse him, saying, 'We found this man subverting our nation. It prohibits to Caesar tax payment and declares himself the Christ, a king. ' Pilate asked Jesus: 'You are the king of the Jews?' 'You say,' Jesus answered. Then Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowd, 'I find no reason to accuse this man' "(Luke 23: 2-4).. Nothing is more degrading than to see an ungodly have more insight than those who know the Word of God.

If this is your case, you are no different from Herod Antipas, the same who ordered the killing of John the Baptist for bothering his adulterous consciousness; the same son of Herod the Great, who wanted to get rid of Jesus when he was born and promoted the massacre of Bethlehem boys.


So do not be fooled by the crowds that now fill the churches of Christendom, thinking that there are all interested in Jesus. "As [Jesus] was in Jerusalem at the Passover Feast, many people saw the miraculous signs he was doing and believed on your behalf. But Jesus would not entrust himself to them, for he knew all. I did not need anyone to testify about man, for he himself knew what was in man "(Jn 2: 23-25).. Have you ever stopped to think what the real reason you want to see Jesus?

Gosto das canções dos Beatles, mas “Imagine” me faz arrepiar. De terror. Em que pese sua beleza poética e melódica, a canção seria o fundo ideal para a cena que temos diante de nós no capítulo 23 de Lucas. Tudo se encaixa: As pessoas unidas em um propósito comum, vivendo em harmonia e sem a preocupação de um destino no céu ou juízo no inferno. Imagine tudo isso “e o mundo viverá como um só”, cantava John Lennon.

De judeus a gentios, de reis a ladrões, de sacerdotes a soldados, aqui todos são um só. “Os chefes dos sacerdotes e os mestres da lei estavam ali, acusando-o com veemência... Herodes e seus soldados ridicularizaram-no e zombaram dele... Herodes e Pilatos, que até ali eram inimigos, naquele dia tornaram-se amigos... Igualmente o insultavam os ladrões que haviam sido crucificados com ele.” (Lc 23:10-12; Mt 27:44).

No Éden nossos ancestrais creram na promessa da serpente: “Vocês serão como Deus, conhecedores do bem e do mal” (Gn 3:5). O que o diabo não contou foi que, apesar de se tornarem “conhecedores do bem e do mal”, eles não teriam poder para fazer o bem ou evitar o mal. Ao decidirem ser “como Deus”, romperam seus laços com o Criador, acabaram nos “laços do diabo, em que à vontade dele estão presos.” (2 Tm 2:26).

Hoje o homem sonha e canta uma paz mundial, um mundo livre de diferenças, com um só propósito, porém sem Deus. Ou melhor, pode-se até crer em uma força superior, energia cósmica ou grande arquiteto do universo, como se exige nas sociedades que visam unir os homens, independente de suas crenças, raças ou nacionalidades. Como nada acontece sem um denominador comum, nada melhor do que a inimizade contra Deus para servir de elemento aglutinador da paz.

Existe nesta cena um frenesi de atividade humana, com todos falando e todos votando com unanimidade. Apenas um está em silêncio: Jesus. Herodes “interrogou-o com muitas perguntas, mas Jesus não lhe deu resposta.” (Lc 23:9). Hoje, quando a violência e a iniquidade correm soltas no mundo, Jesus está em silêncio. Ele voltará a falar ao mundo, porém não serão palavras de graça, mas de juízo. No livro de Apocalipse ele diz: “Continue o injusto a praticar injustiça; continue o imundo na imundícia; continue o justo a praticar justiça; e continue o santo a santificar-se. Eis que venho em breve! A minha recompensa está comigo, e eu retribuirei a cada um de acordo com o que fez.” (Ap 22:11-12).

Of Jews to Gentiles, kings of the thieves, priests of the soldiers here are all one. "The chief priests and the scribes stood by, vehemently accusing him ... Herod and his soldiers ridiculed him and mocked him ... In Eden our ancestors believed the snake promised: "You will be as God, good and evil knowledgeable" (Genesis 3: 5). There is this scene a frenzy of human activity, with everyone talking and all voting unanimously. Only one is silent: Jesus. Herod "questioned him with many questions, but Jesus gave him no answer." (Luke 23: 9). Today, when violence and lawlessness run loose in the world, Jesus is silent. He will again speak to the world, but will not be words of grace, but of judgment. In the book of Revelation he says: "He that is unjust to practice injustice; continue in filthy rags; keep the right to practice justice; and continue the saint to be sanctified. Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will repay each one according to what he did "(Rev. 22: 11-12)..
