Leitura: Lucas 23:44-49  A crucificação de Jesus é o ponto alto da história de ódio do pecador por seu Criador. Até este momento os homens pensavam estar no controle da situação, e o próprio Jesus lhes havia dito: “Esta é a hora de vocês, quando as trevas reinam” (Lc 22:53). Mas Deus, que até aqui parecia indiferente a tudo o que faziam ao seu Filho, apaga a luz. Homem algum poderia evitar que o sol do meio dia se tornasse em trevas. Aquele era também um sinal de que Deus abandonava Jesus ali para assumir os nossos pecados como se fossem seus, e pagar por todos eles. Por isso ele declara profeticamente no Salmo 69:4: “Sou forçado a devolver o que não roubei”.  Não existe vida para o homem do lado de cá da cruz e da morte. É preciso estar em Cristo, ter morrido ali com ele e ressuscitado ao terceiro dia, para receber vida nova. Na cruz Deus colocou um ponto final na raça dos filhos de Adão para iniciar uma nova criação que está além da morte, onde a verdadeira vida começa.  O Filho de Deus se fez Filho do Homem para, por sua morte, poder transformar em filhos de Deus aqueles que nasceram filhos de homens. O que tinha vida em si mesmo, veio ao mundo morrer para dar vida aos que estavam mortos em delitos e pecados. Aquele que tinha seu lar no céu desceu à terra para dar um lar no céu a nós, criaturas da terra. O único que era perfeitamente justo foi feito pecado na cruz, para que nós, que nascemos em iniquidade, fôssemos feitos justiça de Deus. O imortal se fez mortal para dar vida eterna a nós mortais. Ele que era eternamente livre se fez escravo deixando-se pregar numa cruz, a fim de libertar a nós, escravos do pecado. Aquele que era infinitamente rico se fez pobre ao entregar seu último bem, a própria vida, para enriquecer aqueles que nem vida possuíam. Aquele que é luz desceu às trevas, para transformar em filhos da luz a nós, que éramos trevas. Aquele que estava no seio do Pai veio a esta terra distante e desceu à morte, para levar para perto de si aqueles que estavam longe de Deus.  Jesus bradou em alta voz: ‘Pai, nas tuas mãos entrego o meu espírito’. Tendo dito isso, expirou. O centurião, vendo o que havia acontecido, louvou a Deus, dizendo: ‘Certamente este homem era justo’. E todo o povo que se havia juntado para presenciar o que estava acontecendo, ao ver isso, começou a bater no peito e a afastar-se. Mas todos os que o conheciam, inclusive as mulheres que o haviam seguido desde a Galileia, ficaram de longe, observando essas coisas.” (Lc 23:44-49).

Reading: Luke 23: 44-49 The crucifixion of Jesus is the high point of the sinner hate history by their Creator. Until this moment the men thought they were in control, and the Jesus himself told them: "This is the time for you, when darkness reigns" (Luke 22:53). But God that until now seemed indifferent to everything they did to her Son, turns off the light. Man could avoid the midday sun become in darkness. That was also a sign that God abandoned Jesus there to take our sins as his own, and pay for all of them. So he prophetically stated in Psalm 69: 4: "I am forced to return what I did not steal." There is no life for man on this side of the cross and death. One must be in Christ, died there with him and raised on the third day, to receive new life. On the cross God put an end to the race of the children of Adam to start a new creation that is beyond death, where true life begins. The Son of God became the Son of Man, on their death, to transform children of God those born sons of men. What had life in himself, came into the world to die to give life to those who were dead in trespasses and sins. He who had his home in heaven came down to earth to give a home in heaven to us, land creatures. The only one that was perfectly fair was made sin on the cross so that we who were born in iniquity, might become the righteousness of God. The immortal became mortal to give eternal life to us mortals. He who was eternally free became slave leaving to preach on the cross in order to liberate us, slaves to sin. One that was infinitely rich he became poor while delivering his last well, life itself, to enrich those who had no life. One that is light descended into the darkness, turn into children of light to us, we were darkness. He who was in the bosom of the Father came to this distant land and went down to death, to bring close to him those who were far from God. Jesus cried with a loud voice, 'Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit.' Having said this and died. The centurion saw what had happened, praised God, saying, "Certainly this man was innocent." And all the people who had gathered to witness what was happening, seeing this, began to beat his chest and moving away. But all who knew him, including the women who had followed him from Galilee, stood at a distance, watching these things "(Lk 23: 44-49)..
