Alegria, alegria! Joy Joy!

Leitura: Lucas24:49-53 Jesus encerra sua despedida com a promessa de enviar o Espírito Santo, que só poderia vir morar nos crentes após ele ser glorificado nas alturas. Para isso eles deviam permanecer em Jerusalém, a mesma cidade onde ele tinha sido rejeitado, morto e ressuscitado, e de onde o evangelho da graça sairia levando “o arrependimento para perdão de pecados a todas as nações” (Lc 24:47). Ali também o Espírito Santo pousaria na Igreja que estava para ser formada. Jesus diz: “Eu lhes envio a promessa de meu Pai; mas fiquem na cidade até serem revestidos do poder do alto” (Lc 24:49). Depois disso ele leva os discípulos a Betânia, a aldeia que era o lugar preferido do Senhor. Ali ele encontrava repouso na casa de Lázaro, era servido por Marta e desfrutava da total atenção de Maria assentada aos seus pés (Jo 12:1-3). Não poderia existir um lugar mais apropriado para ser a última parada de nosso Senhor na terra. Dali ele não só voltaria aos céus, mas subiria abençoando os seus. “Tendo-os levado até as proximidades de Betânia, Jesus levantou as mãos e os abençoou. Estando ainda a abençoá-los, ele os deixou e foi elevado ao céu.” (Lc 24:50-51). Este evangelho começa e termina com alegria. Primeiro, quando o anjo anunciou a Zacarias o nascimento de João Batista: “Ele será motivo de prazer e de alegria para você, e muitos se alegrarão.” (Lc 1:14). Depois, “quando Isabel ouviu a saudação de Maria, o bebê [João] agitou-se em seu ventre, e Isabel ficou cheia do Espírito Santo. Em alta voz exclamou: ‘Logo que a sua saudação chegou aos meus ouvidos, o bebê que está em meu ventre agitou-se de alegria.’” (Lc 1: 41-44). Mais tarde os pastores ouviriam da boca do anjo “boas novas de grande alegria” pois“na cidade de Davi, lhes nasceu o Salvador que é Cristo, o Senhor.” (Lc 2:10-11). Ao virem Jesus subir aos céus, os discípulos “o adoraram e voltaram para Jerusalém com grande alegria” (Lc 24:52). Eles o adoraram porque Jesus é Deus, e se alegraram porque ele lhes abrira as Escrituras, os olhos e o entendimento para desfrutarem da graça de uma obra completa, que garantia o perdão de pecados e a vida eterna. Tudo agora fazia sentido. Enquanto aguardavam o Espírito Santo, “permaneciam constantemente no templo, louvando a Deus” (Lc 24:53). Mais tarde, com a formação da Igreja, eles entenderiam que não seria mais no Templo que deviam adorar, mas na presença do próprio Senhor, que prometera estar no meio de dois ou três congregados ao seu nome. Ali ele desfrutaria da total atenção dos seus e seria o lugar do seu agrado. Como em Betânia, quando andou aqui.

Reading: Lucas24: 49-53 Jesus ends his farewell with a promise to send the Holy Spirit, which could only come live in the believers after he was glorified on high. For this they were to remain in Jerusalem, the same city where he had been rejected, dead and risen, and where the gospel of grace would come bringing "repentance and forgiveness of sins to all nations" (Luke 00:47). After that it leads the disciples to Bethany, the village that was the favorite place of the Lord. There he found rest in the house of Lazarus, was served by Martha and enjoyed the full attention of Mary seated at his feet (John 12: 1-3). There could not be a more appropriate place to be the last stop of our Lord on earth. From there I not only return to the skies, but would rise blessing his. "Having led them to the vicinity of Bethany, he raised his hands and blessed them. Being he was blessing them, he left them and was carried up into heaven "(Luke 24: 50-51).. This gospel begins and ends with joy. First, when the angel announced to Zechariah the birth of John the Baptist: "it will be a cause of pleasure and joy to you, and many will rejoice." (Luke 1:14). Then, "when Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the baby [John] stirred in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. Loudly exclaimed: 'As soon as your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb is stirred with joy.' "(Luke 1: 41-44). Later pastors would hear from the mouth of the angel "good news of great joy" because "the city of David, been born the Savior who is Christ the Lord." (Luke 2: 10-11). To see Jesus ascended into heaven, the disciples "worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy" (Luke 00:52). They worshiped him because Jesus is God, and rejoiced because he opened the Scriptures to them, eyes and understanding to enjoy the grace of a complete work, which guaranteed the forgiveness of sins and eternal life. It now made sense. As they awaited the Holy Spirit, "remained constantly in the temple, praising God" (Luke 00:53). Later, with the formation of the Church, they would understand it would not be more in the Temple that they should love, but in the presence of the Lord himself, who promised to be in the middle of two or three gathered to his name.
